Taurus, new vehicle that could revolutionize the T3 class of the Dakar

Date:

The two categories of Dakar side by side (light vehicles), created a few years ago, has grown exponentially. They represent a more accessible platform for drivers due to the possibility of having a 100% Dakar experience, competitively, with a cheaper vehicle than the car category. That’s why more and more pilots, especially navigators who came from motorcycles, decided to enter the T4 (light production vehicles) and T3 (light prototypes) classes. The competitiveness and equality in these categories is immense. The fight, no quarter. And the more registered, the more relevant the brands are for the creation of vehicles and prototypes present in Dakar. An example of this is the creation of Taurus, a powerful alliance that claims they were born “revolutionize the world of Rally-Raid.”

MCE-5 and Wevers Sport announce the creation of the TAURUS to dominate off-road competitions in the highly competitive T3 class. “Less than a year since its creation, this vehicle designed for speed and adrenaline has already established itself as the undisputed leader in its category,” featured the press release of said launch.

“This vehicle has proven to be very effective over the past year, with outstanding performances in the Dakar Rally stages, the World Rally Raid Championship (W2RC) events in Abu Dhabi, Sonora (Mexico) and the Desafío Ruta 40 (Argentina ). ), where he won with American driver Mitchell Guthrie, also in Baja Qatar”, remember the text.

The TAURUS T3 Max achieved the remarkable success of the only car that participated in Dakar 2023. The MCE-5 won 5 stages, finished on the podium 7 times and achieved 11 top 7 places in 14 stages. Combining these results from four W2RC events, where he took two wins and competed for the top spots, along with his successful debut in Baja Qatar, he came first in 31% of scheduled sections and in the top 3 at 63% , outpacing the competition even with more cars in the race.

This year, 12 cars were produced and all were sold. By 2024, only 30 units will be produced.
