Porto was allowed to play a match without fans at its Do Dragão stadium because of an incident at the start of the season that left two children injured.
According to local media, the Disciplinary Council of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) sentenced Porto to the home match behind closed doors and a fine of 8,670 euros for the event that took place during the ‘dragons’ victory at the stadium. Moreirense (1-2) on the first day of the Primeira Liga.
During that match, played on August 14, a blue and white fan threw a firecracker that ended up injuring two children.
One suffered minor burns, while the other required hospital care after temporarily losing his hearing, as reported at the time by the Republican National Guard, which also detained the follower.
