Another year, the Formula 1 World Championship calendar has a very special date at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where the Spanish Grand Prix will be held. Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou, the drivers of Alfa Romeo F1 Team Orlen, took time out of their busy schedules to get to know the new Estrema special series. At Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Giulia, it is designed to optimize the sporting performance of these models.
The special Estrema series is designed to amuse “driving purists”. It features new active suspensions as standard, adapting to driving conditions and style, contributing to exceptional riding comfort without sacrificing sporty handling and driving pleasure. The “Alfa Active Suspension” control system manages the suspensions and shock absorbers in continuous interaction with the CDC (Chassis Domain Control) and with DNA, calibrating its intervention according to the selected mode.
The mechanical limited slip differential is also part of the standard equipment. It guarantees stability and high control in all grip conditions, and also distributes torque and traction when exiting corners, at high speeds and during acceleration.
Under the hood, the Giulia and the Stelvio “Estrema” have a 280 hp 2.0 turbo petrol engine or a 210 hp 2.2 turbo diesel engine, both combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Q4 all-wheel drive.
Together with the Bottas-Zhou tandem, the Alfa Romeo F1 Team Orlen is committed to combining the Finnish driver’s experience, with 10 Grand Prix victories, along with the youth and projection of the first Chinese competitor in the top motorsport category into one season in showing fully renewed vehicles.
Valtteri Bottas arrived in Montmeló satisfied with the evolution of the team: “It was a difficult time where everything was new: drivers, vehicles, teams. However, I think from less to more, feel I think I’m more comfortable riding the C42 and the relationship with Guanyu Zhou, Robert Kubica and the whole team of engineers and mechanics is very positive. I think we can do great things this season. “
Regarding the special series of Estrema, the Finnish driver believes that “drivers who, like me, are looking for sensations and get the most out of their car will be delighted with these versions of the Stelvio and Giulia. I was struck by the ending and comfort of these models. They deliver great security. “
