The Algerian Football Federation, after the approval of the country’s authorities and the request of the president of the Palestinian Football Federation, Jibril Rajoubwill host all official and friendly home matches of the Asian team for the 2026 World Cup and 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
As reported in a statement by the Algerian organization, the African country’s federation will also cover all the costs related to these matches that Palestine cannot play on its territory due to the conflict in the war with Israel.
The first is, according to Algerian football president Walid Sadithe official match against Australia scheduled for November 21, in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
Palestine is in Group I of the second qualifying phase of the Asian zone and plans to play its first match on November 16 as a guest against Lebanon. The winner of the first phase tie between Maldives and Bangladesh will complete the group.
Regarding the qualifying phase for the 2017 Asian Cup, Palestine was placed in group C with the United Arab Emirates, Iran and Hong Kong
Algeria is a traditional and unconditional supporter of the Palestinian cause.
