Russian Pavel Kotov’s victory over Dutch Tallon Griekspoor, third seedand Frenchman Gael Monfils against his compatriot Adrian Mannarino, second seed, stood on the day of the quarterfinals of the Stockholm tournament.
The semifinals of the event were established. Two of the main favorites were left and Monfils, winner in 2011, remained afloat.
The Parisian beat Mannarino 7-5 and 7-6(3)second seed, and at 37 years old is seeking the first title of 2023 and the twelfth of his career.
Monfils aims to reach the final in the match against Serbian Laslo Djere had to complete an impressive comeback against Czech Tomas Machac. The Balkan player overcame a marathon three hours and ten minutes in his favor to win 5-7, 7-6(4) and 6-4 and advance to the tournament.
