Poland will be one of Spain’s rivals in the United Cupa mixed team tournament to be played in Australia from December 29 to January 7.
Monday’s draw determined that the Spanish team, which will not have Carlos Alcaraz or Rafa Nadal or Paula Badosa, It will be measured in group A against Poland and another rival to be announced on November 20.
The 18 teams are divided into six groupsthree of them will play the preliminary phase in Perth, on the west coast of Australia, starting December 29, and three more in Sydney.
Djokovic’s Serbian team, one of the big favorites, was placed in Group E with China and the Czech Republicwhile the third-seeded American team is in Group C along with hosts Australia and Great Britain.
In Sydney, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari will join Greece in Group B against Canada and one other team to be announced on November 20. France, Italy and Germany will meet in Group D, and Croatia, the Netherlands and Norway will compete in Group F.
Each of the group winners and the top two finishers will qualify for the quarterfinals.. Sydney will host the semi-finals on January 6 and the final on January 7.
Spain will field Alejandro Davidovich and Sara Sorribes as leaders. Roberto Carballés, Bernabé Zapata, Marina Bassols and Nuria Párrizas completed the training.
