Tottenham will be without Richarlison for the next few weeks after the Brazilian forward underwent surgery for groin discomfort which, as he himself revealed, he has been suffering from for the last eight months.
“The Brazilian international will begin his rehabilitation with our medical staff immediately, before returning to training in the coming weeks,” Tottenham said in a statement.
Richarlison, 26, has made seven Premier League starts this season, scoring one goal and providing three assists. In all competitions he barely scored two goals and did not score in seven games, including two with the Brazilian team.
His absence adds to the long list of injuries accumulated by Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham coach, and includes Ivan Perisic, James Maddison, Ben Davies, Micky van de Ven and Manor Solomon.
The ‘spurs’ have had a good start to the season thanks to their new coach, Postecoglou, and on Monday they surrendered the lead to Manchester City after losing, now without Richarlison, the London derby against Chelsea (1-4). It was their first defeat after eleven game days.
