The decision indicates that the French candidacy, which was launched just three weeks ago, has every chance of being selected.
The IOC will have exclusive negotiations in the French Alps, which could be officially designated next year during the organization’s General Assembly.
Similarly, the IOC has announced that it will only begin negotiations with the American city of Salt Lake City facing the 2034 Winter Olympics. So, all indications are that they will be returning to Utah in a headquarters that they already had in 2002.
