There are just over six months to go before Euro 2024 kicks off on June 14 with host Germany playing the opening match at the Allianz Arena in Munich against an opponent to be announced today.
24 teams will take part and, although three places will remain decided in March in a play-off, the draw for the final stage will take place this afternoon in Hamburg, starting at 6:00 pm
Spain will include bass drum 1 along with Germany, classified ex officio, and the other seeds. Count Portugal, France, Belgium and England, La Roja topped the group and will join its three rivals in the final stage.
Although there were five other groups that won pot 2 (Hungary, Turkey, Romania, Denmark and Albania)in addition to the best second (Austria), the big danger for the Spanish team is in the other two pots. They can drop from 3, after finishing second in their groups, Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands or Luka Modric’s Croatia, second and third in the last two World Cups, Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022.

In pot 4, apart from the three teams that will appear in the play-offs, there is Italy, current champion of the Euro Cup and also a possible rival for Spain by qualifying as second after a 0-0 draw against Ukraine on the final day.
Germany will be placed in group A, the first of six in the final stage where contestants will be drawn. Eleven former Euro champions, whose names have not been revealed by UEFA, will be innocent hands
