This Saturday, Carlos Alcaraz lit the Christmas tree in the city of Murcia, which is 32 meters high and 23 meters wide.hitting a tennis ball after the countdown by a large audience that thronged Circular Square to see the light and sound show.


The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, introduced the tennis player from El Palmar shortly after the singer Ruth Lorenzo dedicated some songs to those who attended the lighting ceremony of a tree with a halo of light that reaches a kilometer high thanks to 90 moving heads placed around itwhich will show a halo of light in the shape of a Christmas fir tree that can be seen from kilometers away.

As an anecdote, At the end of the lighting, the mayor received a message from his son who told him that his granddaughter Clara had just been born, which he happily commented after fifty kilos of gunpowder ended the event.

Around the tree there is a Central European-style Christmas market with more than 50 stalls, six workshop areas that each day will host activities for the whole family, a gastronomic space, a playroom with workshops for children, two stages with a total of 375 square meters, photocalls, recreation and rest areas, as well as a 240-square-meter synthetic ice rink inside the Great Christmas Tree.

According to municipal sources, every day there will be activities for the whole family at Circular Square. such as workshops, audiovisual shows, musical shows, concerts, children’s performances, entertainment and solidarity toy collections.
