The Spanish relays are concentrated in South Africa in search of the Olympic dream

The five Spanish athletics relays are concentrated in Stellenboschoutside Cape Town (South Africa), where they will stay until December 21, with the aim of preparing for the World Relay Championships in Nassau, in the Bahamas (May 4 and 5), which will qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games ..

The preparation, outlined within the ‘National Relay Plan 2024’ launched by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation, undertaking the historic challenge of qualifying five 4×100 and 4×400 relays in both genders and the mixed one for the Paris Olympic Games, something that if achieved would be the first time.

The date marked in red by the RFEA is May 4 and 5 with the World Relay Championships in Nassau. Fourteen of the sixteen spots for the Games are up for grabs in the championship, and 32 countries are expected to attend the event.

The athletes called for the 4×100 relay are Jael Bestué, Lucía Carrillo, Elena Daniel SorollaCarmen Marco, Sonia Molina Prados, María Isabel Pérez, Paula Sevilla, Jorge Gómez Villadiego, Sergio López Barranco, Arnau Monné, Pablo Montalvo, Pol Retamal and Daniel Rodríguez Serrano.

The 4×400 athletes are Carmen Avilés, Laura Bou, Laura BuenoBárbara Camblor, Sara Gallego, Herminia Parra, Eva Santidrián, Julio Arenas, Lucas Bua, Iñaki Cañal, David Fradera, Bernat Erta, Samuel García Cabrera, Manuel Guijarro and Oscar Husillos.

The coordinator of the preparation of the 28 athletes in South Africa is Toni Puigaccompanied by four technicians (Ricardo Diéguez, Bernardo Domínguez, Esther Lahoz and Valentín Rocandio), two personal trainers (Juan Carlos Abellán and Luis Rodríguez Fernández) and two physiotherapists (Daniel Diéz Rabanal and Víctor Heredia).
