The Disciplinary Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation agreed on Thursday to reject Getafe’s request for full compliance with the sanction of total closure of its sports venue for the January 2 match against Rayo Vallecano.
The committee rejected the main request made by Getafe for changing the penalty of the total closure of the stadium to play the match behind closed doors.
Also, it urges the azulón club “to fully comply with the penalty of the total closure of its sports venue (Getafe Coliseum Stadium) in celebration of the match corresponding to Matchday 19 of the First Division National League Championship on January 2 of 2024, in the terms expressed in article 57 of the RFEF Disciplinary Code”.
The discipline agreed to impose on Getafe the penalty of closing the stadium during an official match due to the events that occurred during the match corresponding to the second leg of the second round of the Second Division promotion stage played on June 24, 2017 against Tenerife.
This sanction was changed by the Appeal Committee, but, then, the Administrative Court of Sport re-imposed the same penalty from the Disciplinary Committee. Getafe appealed the decision of the TAD, which on Thursday reaffirmed the Disciplinary decision.
