Swiss Formula 1 team Sauber will be called Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber in 2024, according to the official list of ten teams registered for next season, announced this Friday by the International Automobile Federation (FIA).
The exact name of the team is not yet known, although it is known that it is set to change since Sauber’s main partner, Alfa Romeo, announced its departure from F1 after five years with the Swiss team.
Thus, the team based in Hinwil (Switzerland) will carry the name of two of its sponsors already seen on the car: Stake, an Australian online casino and sports betting site, and Kick, a video streaming service that -owned by the founders of Stake and which has 22 million registered users since its launch last year.
The team will also be called Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber in 2025, according to a statement from the team, which will continue to have a Ferrari engine before the arrival of Audi in 2026.
China’s Zhou Guanyu and Finland’s Valtteri Bottas will remain the team’s two F1 drivers next year, while Frenchman Théo Pourchaire, winner of the Formula 2 title, will retain his role as reserve driver.
