The British Thomas Pidcockworld champion in 2022, achieved his first victory this Sunday of the current season of Cyclocross World Cup by winning the test held in the Belgian town of Namur.
Pidcock24 years old and world (2023) and European (2022) and Olympic (Tokyo 2020) mountain bike champion, won in Namur before the two Dutchmen: Pim Ronhaarsecond to 15 seconds, and Joris Nieuwenhuisthird out of 33.
The Briton overcame jumping his bike chain to come back, chase down Dutch Ronhaar, Nieuwenhuis and Ryan Kamp and take his first victory in the 2023/2024 World Cup. Iserbyt remains the first place in the general classification of the World Cup.
Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado won the women’s race and led the Dutch triplet they finished Puck Pieterse and Lucina Brand.
