The technician of Aston Villa, Unai Emeryand its counterpart Brentford, Thomas Frankwere unhappy with the behavior of their players after both teams had a man sent off in Sunday’s chaotic Premier League match.

Villa came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory at Brentford’s Community Stadium, with Ollie Watkins scoring an 85th-minute winner against his former club and sparking goal chaos in his celebrations. Brentford defender Ben Mee was sent off in the 71st minute for a foul on substitute Leon Bailey, while Villa midfielder Boubacar Kamara was red-carded for violent conduct in added time.

Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez’s attempt to drag Brentford striker Neal Maupay to his feet sparked another row. The referee admonished 10 other players and both coaches: Frank for his complaints about Mee’s red card and Emery for going on the field to hide ‘Dibu’ Martínez. All 14 cards came in the second half.

“I want to analyze the players collectively and individually, but my spirit when we play and win is to try to respect everyone,” Emery told Sky Sports. “On the field, the players are excited, both teams have nervous moments and things like the ones we have seen can happen. “My message before the games is always the same: respect ourselves, respect the opponent, respect the referees. “We’ve lost our minds a little bit now with some of that behavior, I want to focus and work to get it under control.”

Frank was also unhappy with his team’s behavior and said there were too many situations where he thought, “No, it shouldn’t be like that. Unfortunately, there are situations that grab the headlines,” he added.
