Goals without prizes in La Romareda

Date:

Real Zaragoza and Levante tied two goals this Wednesday in a match that equates to the twenty-first day of LaLiga Hypermotion, with a match full of goals and action, but not enough for either team to reach their goals.

Therefore, the locals need three points to ensure the arrival of Julio Velázquez on the bench, as they currently have only one win in the last four rounds, in addition to two draws and one defeat.

Meanwhile, Levante will seek to confirm their feelings at La Romareda and thus look to the promotion positions with possibilities, after achieving two victories and a draw in their three previous matches.

To face the match, the Whites took to the pitch with the same eleven number selected for the previous match, against Amorebieta, except for the substitution of Marc Aguado for Grau.

The first minutes of the match seemed to show more local momentum, although Levante soon showed that they were not a troop, with actions that mimicked Zaragoza’s attacks.

Attacks by the whites as made, first, by Francho, in the 15th minute, and, after 4 minutes, by Mollejo, were both dangerous when they were canceled for offside.

On the part of the visitors, Martínez, in the 20th, shot at goal that was defended by Rebollo, as was the case with a shot by Lozano that had just finished.

Already in the 29th minute, Levante warned again with a play started by Dani Gómez, who beat Jair and that, despite the seeming danger, came to nothing.

Zaragoza’s first serious wake-up call didn’t come until the 32nd minute, when Valera put in a cross from the right that Francho’s header went into a corner after being denied.

Ten minutes later, Francho put in a good forward cross from the left wing, only for Mollejo to slot the ball into the area, making the score 1-0.

The goal suited the home team, as they doubled their advantage as soon as two minutes of stoppage time began with another header, in this case from Maikel Mesa, who executed a ball delivered by Gámez from the middle of the place

With that important advantage, the Whites faced a second half that started with almost the same airs as the second, with a more active Zaragoza, and no change in either team.

A blue and white dominance that, finally, the visitors broke with a very fast attack, the result of a corner, which Fabricio culminated, after a good drive against which Rebollo was helpless.

The score was 2-1 in the 63rd minute and the locals suffered, so seven minutes later Brugué equalized with an impeccable header from Clemente’s corner.

Zaragoza reacted to the equalizer with several chances that could have changed the direction of the match, such as the one missed, just a minute later, by Bermejo, who found the inspiration of Fernández to deflect his shot from close range.

Already in the 79th minute, Francho once again forced the Levante goalkeeper to show off with an acrobatic shot, which the goalkeeper responded with a stretch to send the ball into a corner.

And, a minute later, Mollejo completed a lively start from the right wing with a powerful shot into the side of the net.

That was the script for the final minutes of the game; a Zaragoza focused on the attack and a Levante that seemed to make a good point at La Romareda, withstanding the rival’s attacks.

So, and although there was 8 minutes of stoppage time at the end of the match, Zaragoza could not break the granota wall and ended the rivalry by distributing the points they knew little about.
