Fatih Terim, the legend of Turkish football as coach of the national team and Galatasaray, is the new coach of Panathinaikos, as announced by the Greek club on Tuesday.
Term, no team since January 2022when he left Galatasaray, he thus became, at the age of 70, the first Turkish coach to manage a Greek football team.
Third experience abroad
Term, known as ‘The Emperor’, signed a contract for one and a half seasons and replaced the Serbian Ivan Jovanovic
This is the third foreign team he will direct after doing so in Italy since 2000 and 2001 he was at the head of Fiorentina and then moved to Milan (2001).
For the last three decades, Terim has been the face of both Galatasaray and the national team in a career that has never been free of shocks and controversies.
He coached the Istanbul team for four periods and the national team for three, with as many breakups, sometimes for reasons unrelated to the sport.
