The Belgian cyclist Remco Evenepoel This Tuesday he confirmed his presence, for the first time, in the 2024 Tour de France, during the presentation in Calpe (Alicante) of his team, Soudal Quick-Step.
Evenepoel, 23, who will make his Tour de France debut, said: “Last year was very special, from winning Liège-Bastogne-Liège to becoming World Time Trial Champion.”
“So I can be proud of how things turned out, despite some setbacks, such as getting sick during the Giro and retiring when I was leading the race,” added Evenepoel, who will start his campaign next month in Figueira Champions Classic, followed by the Volta al Algarve, in Portugal.
“But everything that happened in 2023 is a part of the past and all my attention is focused on this year. I will be racing a lot in France in the coming months and I hope to achieve more good results and a good debut in the Tour,” he stressed in statements that spread the team.
Landa: “Coming to this team motivated me”
The Spaniard joined the team from Bahrain-Victorious Mikel Landa, one of the best climbers on the World Tour, twice in the top three at the Giro d’Italia and winner of possibly the toughest stage in Vuelta a España history nine years ago.
“Coming to this team motivates me, and I can’t wait to start things in a few weeks. I have a lot of experience and I look forward to sharing it with the younger riders. I want to use my experience in the grand tour to help the team today. Remcobecause I really believe that I can contribute to the overall success,” said Landa.
“At the same time I will go for my opportunities as much as possible, and next season I hope to do well in the Vuelta a España,” explained Landa, who faces his fourteenth professional season .

Soudal Quick-Step consists of 27 riders representing nine countries and with an average age of 27 years. It is one of the youngest squads on the World Tour, although between all members they have 218 professional victories.
