“I want to take care of the tires, except for the end, where I pressed hard on the rocks because there were only a few kilometers left. The rest of the time we are careful, because there are many traps in the roadbook, many navigations and crossroads where a lot of time can be lost,” he commented.

As for the time he beat Sainz, the nine-time world rally champion emphasized that “of course beautiful” trim third part of the Spanish difference in the general classification and stressed that “here everything can go one way or another at any time”, so “you have to stay focused and have good navigation”.

Finally, asked about the possible tactical advantage he might have by starting the next stage first and his teammate, the Qatari Nasser Al-Attiyah (Prodrive), fourth, said he did not want ” use Nasser’s help.”

“If he has to help me, something is not good for us.”. I hope I don’t need it, but if there are three holes and he’s close, of course his help is good,” he highlighted.
