It’s been quite a while Anthony Martial covering the covers of English sports cars. Not because of his time or quality of play but because of the opposite. The French international has not featured since the 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth, more than a month ago and there is much speculation about a possible departure in January.
According to the ‘Daily Mail’, Martial has not trained with his teammates since falling ill last month, which has sidelined the forward since December 9. Ten Hag did not give many clues when asked about the footballer in recent weeks. He said he was just out of shape. It is understood that Martial, 28, is not currently suffering from any injury but must regain fitness.
Ten Hag’s decision to have Martial train alone is not a disciplinary matter but shows his belief in individual training for players who are not 100% ready to play.
Currently, Ten Hag considers himself unfit to work with the group due to the intensity and speed of work the coach demands of his players in training.
