A 68% of Catalans are in favor of Catalonia and Barcelona hosting the Formula 1 Grand Prixwhile 58% are also in favor of holding the Sailing America’s Cup, according to a survey by the Center for Opinion Studies (CEO) of the Generalitat.
The CEO director, Jordi Muñoz, presented this Wednesday the data from the third wave of the Generalitat Òmnibus surveymade from the questions proposed by the departmentsin a study where 2,162 people participated.
At the back of debate raised by the continuation of the Formula 1 Barcelona Grand Prix from 2026when the current contract ends and will begin to conduct a race in Madrid, the survey of the Generalitat showing widespread Catalan support for the competition.
definitely, 40% of those surveyed say they strongly agree with Barcelona and Catalonia hosting the Formula 1 Grand Prix, 28% agree23% are indifferent and only 3% disagree, the same number for those who strongly disagree.
The survey also revealed the widespread support from the Catalans for the celebration of a motorcycling Grand Prix (69% of supporters), the Vuelta Ciclista a España (62%) and the Copa del América sailing (58%).
In the case of America Cup31% strongly agree, 27% agree, 29% are indifferent, 5% disagree and another 5% strongly disagree with the celebration of this event.
Regarding the motorcycle Grand Prix, 39% of respondents stated that they strongly agree30% say they agree, 23% are indifferent, 3% disagree and another 3% strongly disagree.
With the Spain Cycling Tour34% strongly agree and 28% say they agree, while 25% are indifferent, 5% say they disagree and another 5% strongly disagree.
