The champion of the 2014 Giro d’Italia and the 2016 Vuelta a España, Nairo Quintana will be the leader of Movistar in Tour Colombia 2.1which will depart from the town of Paipa in Colombia on February 6.

Quintana is joined by Colombians Iván Ramiro Sosa, double champion of the Vuelta a Burgos and the Tour of Langkawi, as well as sprinter Fernando Gaviria, winner of stages in the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France.

The sixth runner is the Brazilian Vinicius Rangelchampion of the Vuelta a Cantabria and the Vuelta a Salamanca, on the Spanish amateur calendar.

The fourth edition of the Tour Colombia 2.1, which will have a route of 911.6 kilometers, will have 25 teams. of cycling that from February 6 will take to the roads in the middle of the country for the title won in 2020, in the last edition, by Sergio Higuita, currently at Bora-Hansgrohe.

So far, the race organization has reported the participation of Movistar, Astana, and EF Education, formations that are part of the WorldTour.

In the Pro Team category there will be Bingoal WB from Belgium and Corratec from Italy. They will join 16 continental teams and the national teams of Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Estonia.

The big star this year is the British Mark Cavendishwho will lead Astana Qazaqstan and who, at 38 years old, has an impressive track record that includes 34 stage wins in the Tour de France, 17 in the Giro d’Italia and three in the Vuelta a España.

The Colombian team will be led by Egan Bernal, from Ineos, champion of the Tour de France in 2019 and the Giro d’Italia in 2021.

The American EF Education team will be led by Ecuadorian Richard CarapazOlympic road champion in Tokyo 2020 and the Giro d’Italia in 2019, and runner-up in the Giro in 2022 and the Vuelta a España in 2020.

The race will end on February 11 in front of the National Museum of Colombia, in Bogotá, after traveling 160 kilometers in the final stage between the town of Sopó and the Colombian capital.
