Dorna and FIM have officially canceled the Argentine Grand Prix“due to the current events in Argentina”, and from April 5 to 7 will be the third qualifying test of the 2024 MotoGP calendar.
These “current circumstances” are nothing more than the reorganization of the ministers and the policy of cuts of the new president of the Republic of Argentina, Javier Milei, and which forced the local advocate to “negotiate currently it cannot guarantee the necessary services for the Grand Prix that will take place in 2024 with MotoGP standards.”

Since this cancellation came just a month and a half before the start of the championship and the event was part of an American double with Austin, there is no option to replace it and the 2024 championship will start with 21 Grand Prix.
There is another quote that hangs in the balance, the Kazakhstan GP in the new Sokol circuit and which has already fallen from the calendar in 2023 due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a conflict that has not yet been resolved. The championship has plan B in this case to maintain 21 GGPP and it is the Magyar circuit of Balaton Park which enters the WorldSBK calendar in 2024 and is named MotoGP reserve. By 2025 that is planned Hungaroring enters the calendar as the Hungarian motorcycle GP.
