Aston Martin and Mercedes meet at the Jerez circuit in closed-door tests scheduled by Pirelli on February 6 and 7 to evaluate and finalize their 2023 tires.
Earlier at 9:00 a.m., Fernando Alonso set off with an AMR22 without a sticker, making several runs between six and eight laps.
An hour later Lewis Hamilton appeared with his Mercedes. The future Ferrari driver shared the track with the Spaniard to test his car.
Both drivers will be hoping this year to improve their performance to add more spice to the next F1 World Championship so as not to repeat the monopoly of victories by Max Verstappen and his Red Bull. Lance Stroll and George Russell will debut their cars the following day.
