Tommy Paulsecond seed, captured the second ATP title of his career this Sunday by winning the first three games of the third set and defeated Marcos Girón, unseeded, 7-6 (3), 5-7 and 6-3 in an all-American final at the Dallas Open.
Paul held serve to open the deciding set, and again in the third game. He took the second game, which included Giron’s third double fault, in the first US circuit final from Tokyo two years ago.
“It was an incredible match“said Paul, who in Monday’s new ATP rankings will move up one spot to 14th, making him the second highest-ranked American behind Taylor Fritz. This is the fourth ATP final for 26 -years-old Paul A native of New Jersey, his previous title was in 2021 in Stockholm.
