The Kazakh Elena Rybakina, winner of this week’s Abu Dhabi tournament, moved into fourth position of the WTA classification, which is still led by the Polish Iga Swiatek.
Rybakina won her second tournament of the year by defeating Russian Daria Kasatkina in the final. allowing her to overtake American Jessica Pegula on the world listwhich returns to fifth place.
Swiatek leads the table with 9,770 points, compared to 8,905 of Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka and the 7,200 of the American Coco Gauff. Rybakina accumulates 6,088.
Kasatkina, for her part, rose to thirteenth positionwho replaced Brazilian Beatrid Haddad Maia, the best placed Latin American tennis player ahead of Argentine Nadia Podoroska, who was in 84th place.
Sara Sorribes enters the ‘top 50’ by settling for 49th place after climbing five places. Eight rose to 66, Cristina Bucsa, and Paula Badosa remained at 79, while Rebeka Masarova fell to 96.
