Ivory Coast have gone from barely being eliminated at the group stage to becoming Africa Cup champions as hosts of the tournament in just 17 days, certainly a time that since Jean-Louis Gasset was fired on the appointment as temporary of the person who until then was his assistant, Emerse Faé.
A week after the incredible success achieved by Faé, the Ivory Coast Football Federation announced today that the coach will take up the position of coach permanently.
From almost eliminated to champions

“Emerse Faé was until now the interim coach. Now he has been confirmed as the permanent coach,” the president of the Ivory Coast Football Federation said on Monday. Idriss Dialloat an event in Abidjan.
The only previous experience of Faé, 40, on the bench is in the lower categories of Nice and as coach of the Clermont Foot reserve team.
Born in Nantes (France)Faé is an Ivory Coast international and participated in three editions of the Africa Cup and the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
After the friendlies in March, their goal is to qualify Côte d’Ivoire for the 2026 World Cup. In June, Gabon and Kenya will face each other in group F of the first qualifying round.
