The Swedish pole vaulter won the third indoor event of the season, although the first one jumped more than six meters, because in the previous two, in Astana (Kazakhstan) and Uppsala (Sweden), he stayed at 5.80 and 5.92 meters, respectively.
Duplantis easily won the tournament over his main rival, the American Sam Kendricks and the french Thibaut Collet They remained at 5.92, despite their attempts to reach 6.02.
The Swede, double world and European champion, took the opportunity to try to beat his own world record, as he announced at the start of the meeting. After surpassing 6.23 meters in September 2023 in Eugene (United States), he asked to set the bar at 6.24, but three attempts were made without success. The one that came closest to being correct was the second one, where a slight friction caused the bar to fall to the mat.
