Paul Pogba was officially sanctioned this Thursday in an exemplary and historic manner. The Anti-Doping Prosecutor’s Office of Italy imposed a 4-year ban on the Frenchman for testing positive for testosterone in August in a control after the match against Udinese, being sidelined from Juventus Turin since September on a precautionary basis.
Now Pogbawho tested positive again in a counter-analysis last October, released a statement on his social networks about the decision of the Anti-Doping Prosecutor’s Office.
“The National Anti-Doping Tribunal informed me today and I believe the verdict is wrong. I am sad, shocked and saddened that everything I have built throughout my professional career has been taken away from me.
When free from legal restrictions the full story will be revealedbut I did not knowingly or knowingly take supplements that violated anti-doping rules.
As a professional athlete I have never done anything to enhance my performance with substances and I have never insulted or criticized other athletes or fans of the teams I played for, or the matches.
As a result of the decision announced today, I will appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAD)”.
