To face the event with total professionalism and ambition, Levante EDI players trained on Tuesday afternoon with Levante Feminino, Primera Iberdrola’s top team.
Levante EDI consists of a team of 16 players. They will face RC Deportivo de la Coruña, Fundación Fútbol Base Reus and Nàstic de Tarragona in the sports city of Lezama.
Levante UD EDI is a Soccer School for People with Intellectual Disabilities. As they point out on their website, “we draw smiles. That’s the motto that Levante UD EDI has carried as its flag since this Levante Foundation project came to prominence in 2012. In this way, Levante UD became the first professional football club to create a School for the Intellectually Disabled and incorporate it into its structure ”.
The school grows annually until it now has over 100 players. In addition, this growth has allowed that, since January 2015, a startup group for children from 8 to 12 years old has been created, which has been an absolute success.
