New clues about the real reason for the death of Koltsov, Sabalenka’s lover

Konstantin Koltsovthe former Belarusian professional ice hockey player and tennis player’s boyfriend Aryna Sabalenkadied in an “apparent suicide”, as explained this Tuesday by Miami-Dade Police Departmentwhich added that “no criminal act is suspected.”

Koltsov, who is 42 years old, participated in both Olympic Games with the Belarusian team, in Salt Lake City’2002 and Vancouver’2010and became part of the team of Pittsburgh Penguins of North American Ice Hockey League (NHL) for three seasons, between 2003 and 2006. In addition, Koltsov participated in nine World Cups.

The Penguins confirmed Koltsov’s death and offered condolences to the team on the X social media platform.

“The Penguins extend their deepest condolences to the family and friends of former Penguins forward Konstantin Koltsov,” the NHL team said.

“The Belarusian player was selected in the first round of the 1999 draft by the Penguins and was with the team from 2003 to 2006 playing 144 games in the NHL. Konstantin was a teammate of Sidney Crosby and Mario Lemieux during the 2005-06 season.

Aryna Sabalenka, 25, has not withdrawn from the WTA 1,000 in Miami so far. The Belarusian player was seen this Tuesday at the training court of Hard Rock Stadium. Exempted in the first round, he has time to decide whether or not he will play in the tournament as his first match will be on Thursday or Friday against the winner of the match between the Spaniards Paula Badosa and the Romanian Simona Halep.

Sabalenka and Koltsov were first linked in June 2021, according to People magazine, and they often post photos of themselves together on their Instagram accounts.

Koltsov also applauded Sabalenka after winning her second consecutive Australian Open title in January.
