Date:

Andrea Iannone, after four years on the track due to a doping sanction, is once again enjoying riding a racing motorcycle. He does it in WorldSBKwith the Ducati Panigale V4R of Team GoEleven.

In an interview granted to the official communication channels of the championship, the Italian admitted that “I stopped following MotoGP and I began to follow WorldSBK. I don’t know why, but it seems that way. When I was watching the races, I wanted to be in the battle.”

Iannone explaining that “I began to communicate occasionally with Gigi Dall’Igna. One day I went to Misano with my father and met him. We talked a little and he said to me: ‘Andrea‘Do you like it, do you think you’re ready?’ I told him yes.”

“I can’t get back what I lost, it’s impossible, but on the one hand, I want to try to get my happiness back. I’m happy, living this dream,” admitted the pilot born in wide.

A very difficult time

Regarding his absence due to punishment, Iannone points out that “My four years without competing… at first were dramatic. It’s hard to understand and adapt because I’ve lost my whole life. When you lose everything, you’re a bit disoriented. It’s like a big fall. When you have a big fall, You might stop for a year. I stopped for four. It’s hard to explain this situation. I felt a lot of support from my fans, my family and my friends, but it wasn’t easy. Especially the first year , I became quite close to myself. But, step by step, I started to live a somewhat normal life.”
