Date:

The Italian Francesco ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia (Ducati Desmosedici GP24) had to settle for fourth place in the ‘sprint’ race of the Portuguese MotoGP Grand Prix after a mistake and that’s why he regretted that ‘it could have been twelve points and, however, it was six’ .

“The championship is long, we still have to run 39 races, although it makes a differenceso it’s annoying that this is happening, because I’ve been this good in the sprint test for a long time, and a few mistakes don’t help,” lamented Bagnaia.

The world champion explained his mistake: “first of all, I am happy that in a sprint I ran wellgoing to the front and managing, the sensations are good and I rediscover the ‘explosion’ that I missed, but I did not take into account the fact that the first corner of this circuit is very particular, the descent is fast. , and I continued braking in the same way without taking into account that the gas tank was empty and I noticed that the rear part was rising a little, until I failed and lost it completely.

“You have to think positively about tomorrow, try to take another step forward and at the moment I feel that the rear of the bike dances more than I want, but we know where it can be improved and especially in the race we will use the medium rear tire that I like. more, so I’m pretty much ready. It will be another story,” said ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia.

And the leader of the world championship remembered: “in the penultimate corner in Qatar and the last corner in Portimao, going forward, I lost, and in both cases I could have started on the front row instead of the second, even the racing sensations then they improved.

And, regarding his rivals for the Portuguese race, he emphasized: “Certainly Maverick, Enea, who will come out better, Márquez, Martín… there are already many and there are only three places on the podium, and one for the winner, we will try to give the maximum”.
