Although there is no official date yet, the FIFA is doing that in the next edition of Club World Cup of 2022, a contest in which the real Madrid in its capacity as the current UEFA Champions League champion.
Let’s not forget that the 2022-2023 season is going to be complicated in the making Qatar World Cup at the end of November and December. Last Wednesday we detailed in Mundo Deportivo the entire calendar in our country.
It remains to fit that calendar small world of Clubs, a FIFA tournament that mixes the winning teams of continental tournaments of six confederations that depend on the highest body in world football.
Historically, this tournament has been played in the early dates of December, something that has changed in the last two editions of 2020 and 2021. In both cases, it was moved to the month of February. The 2020 edition was held from 1 to 11 February of 2021 in Qatar. The final edition took place from February 3 to 12 in the United Arab Emirates.
And these are the same dates of the second month of the year 2023 where FIFA is working for the next edition of the club tournament.
Some dates will affect real Madrid on some dates closed to our country’s competitions. Based on this planning, Real Madrid could play until last January league game and then go to the country where FIFA finally decided on the tournament dispute.
Initially the whites could not play, or had to see it because their condition allowed them not to participate until the semifinals of the Mundialito, the day postponed for the four Super Cup clubs scheduled for Feb. 1.
The same happens on the twentieth day of the League, set for the weekend of February 4-5. There’s also the problem about the dates of the semifinals King’s Cup. It was set for February 8, a date that almost entirely coincided with the unpleasant one of his Club World Cup.
We will see what decision FIFA has adopted because it is not excluded to be delayed in the middle of this month or to put it at the end of this month of February and beginning of March.
