FIFA is asking the RFEF for explanations

Date:

The FIFA has taken the first step in the whole institutional crisis that exists in Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). As you know MDthe highest body in the world of football has sent a letter to the federative body requesting information and explanations about the open investigations that led to the action of UCO last week and after the arrest of the legal counsel, Pedro Manuel Segurathe human resources manager, Jose Javier Jimenezand until last Friday the external legal counsel, Tomas González Cueto.

The arrests within the investigation were opened by various contracts signed by the former president Luis Rubiales with the counselor’s brother, Angel Segura and his construction company. And those who allegedly benefited from the former federation president. A UCO action that is due to delay from RFEF to provide the documentation requested by the judge conducting the investigation.

In the letter he asks for information to from RFEF explain what actions they will take and what in fact they are doing from the federation with expulsion to Cueto and his office mate Ramon Caravaca in addition to files with legal counsel and head of human resources.

In the letter, as learned by MD, it never mentions intervention on the part of FIFA through the normalization commission. At this time only information is requested in this matter. Just yesterday we said that the CSD has asked FIFA to act on the entire federative problem.

But we have also explained that only in extreme cases is when an intervention can be considered RFEF with this commission overseeing the functioning of the institution until elections are called. Right now this is a letter requesting information about RFEF about the whole situation.
