Next month Spain will travel to the Bahamas to compete in the Relay World Cup 2024 with a team consisting of 25 athletes (13 girls and 12 boys). The event, which will be held on May 4 and 5, will be key for qualification for the Olympic Games in Paris this summer.
Included in the Spanish delegation 8 national record holders complete and combines experience and youth.
The women’s 4x100m team stands out, with four runners who broke the Spanish record in 2022 at the World Championships in Oregon with 42.58: Sonia Molina-Prados, Jaël-Sakura Bestué, Paula Sevilla and Maria Isabel Perez.
The men’s long relay, known as the “Spanish Beatles”, will have up to three of the athletes who broke the Spanish 4x400m record (3:00.54) at the European final in Munich two years ago: Oscar Husillos, Lucas Bua and Iñaki Canal.
