Felipe Anderson confirms that he will not continue at Lazio and will play for Palmeiras

Date:

Felipe Anderson has announced that he will not continue with Lazio from next season after failing to reach an agreement with the Roman club to extend his contract, which expires on June 30. The 31-year-old Brazilian midfielder announced this via statement published on his social networks. A few minutes after the announcement, Palmeiras confirmed his arrival for the next three seasons.

“Out of respect for Lazio and all its people who have always supported me, I declare that I have not negotiated for the renewal of the contract with the club and that I will take a different path next season. I have always shown in actions my professionalism and my commitment to Lazio, so I assure you that I will continue to dedicate myself until the last day of my contract to honor this shirt Thank you all,” read Felipe Anderson’s note.

After months of tug-of-war, it was assumed that an agreement between the Brazilian and Lazio would not happen. The player will finally return to Palmeiras for personal reasons after not accepting the offer presented by Juventus.

It has been a turbulent week for the Lazial entity, since Luis Alberto, who has a current contract, informed the club of his decision to end it. “I don’t want one more euro from Lazio,” he said after being asked to put him on the market.
