The Australian national boxing coach, Jamie Pittmanconfirmed on Wednesday that he will not attend the Paris Olympic Games after admitting acts of intimidation and sexual harassment against female boxers.
Jamie Pittman, national coach since the end of 2021, has been accused eleven different violations of the code of conduct following several overseas tours last year for the Australian Combat Institute, acting on behalf of a number of female boxers.
He National Sports Courtan independent government body set up to resolve sports-related disputes heard damning evidence against him last month, the details of which were not made public until Wednesday.
During the hearing, Pittman, 42, said he felt “ashamed” and that he would not challenge the conclusions, recognizing that “Some of the comments he made were inappropriate.”
“After reviewing the evidence, I do not wish to cause any additional stress or anxiety to the athletes preparing for the upcoming Olympic Games.retracted his expression of interest in training for these Games and admitted his guilt,” the court said.
Contacted on Wednesday by the Sydney Daily Telegraph, Pittman declined to provide further details about these allegations, but said that will not participate in the 2024 Olympics this summer.

The National Sports Court recommended his retroactive suspension for six months from November 9, 2023. It also ordered that he must issue a written apology to his victims and seek the help of an association.
