Seville-Levante 1-3
Levante won in Seville in an important match for their European interests, and emerged from a bad dynamic in which they added only 1 point from the last 9 to recover, at least temporarily, third place. The visitors showed their game from the first minutes and took control in a match that seemed too long for the Seville team. Andonova fully recovered from the loss of Alba Redondo and became the star with two goals. The first came after 20′, in a goal between Llamas and María Méndez. After a free kick by Paula Fernández, Lloris’ header went between Llamas and the Granota central defender. Martín-Prieto and Gabarro were almost level, but Andonova finished off a killer pass from Érika to make it 0-2 at half-time.
After the restart, Levante came out strong and again Andonova, after a cross from Méndez, scored the third (45′) to almost finish the game. Sevilla still managed to fight for a draw, as Diana Gomes reduced the gap with a header after a lateral foul was picked up by Otermín (57′). Cahynova was close to finding the goal, but the visiting team knew how to keep the advantage in their favor to take the victory and regain third place in the absence of the matches of Atlético de Madrid, who visit Real, and Madrid CFF, who will go in the field of Barça. Sevilla, who continue to err on the side of irregularity, remain in seventh position.
Real Betis-Sporting de Huelva 3-1
The match between Betis and Sporting seems to be important for the interest of both teams, and the locals got three important points to escape relegation. The Huelva team, for their part, will be a second division team next season with the exception of Utopia. The match started with intensity on the part of both teams, and they continued to attack in search of a goal. Rosa Márquez had the clearest shot against Mersnik, parrying a shot from Betica, and after half an hour, Carol Férez hit the post with a fine shot after an assist from Violeta Quiles. Sporting also tried their luck with the boot of Bárbara López but, despite chances for both teams, the score remained unchanged at half-time.
On restart, the same tone is maintained. The high tempo of the match reflected the need to score, but Betis took the lead thanks to a header from Roberts after a serve.
from a corner taken by Soliveres (51′). The goal gave wings to Betis, to the delight of their fans and, 10′ after the first goal, they put the ball in the middle with a goal from Cameron, who was very demanding throughout the match. Sporting had not yet said their last word and it was certainly Bárbara López, the one who most wanted a goal in the first half, who closed the gap (68′). Huelva’s hopes, however, were dashed early on, as just two minutes later, Cameron sealed the match again to move Betis 2 points away from relegation.
Costa Adeje Tenerife-Valencia 1-0
Costa Adeje Tenerife pulled off a win to virtually seal their permanence against a Valencia side who are 6 points clear of relegation. The match started with a lot of parity between the two teams with barely 2 points separating them in the standings. Anita Marcos, Che team’s most dangerous player, had the first chance with a shot from almost midfield that Aline cleared with difficulty. On the local side, Jassina Blom hit the post and Ange Koko created the biggest danger and had the best chance of the first half in a one-on-one match that she couldn’t finish.
The second part started with the same script; equality and opportunity for both teams. In the 61st minute, madness broke out when Koko, after a beautiful death pass from Pisco, sent the ball into the back of the net to score the first and only goal of the match. Valencia created many chances in search of an equaliser. Pauleta had the clearest chance in the 83rd minute, but Aline blocked the ball and Oliva’s team ran out of time for more.
Villarreal-Granada 1-2
Granada added three vital points in their fight for permanence against a Villarreal who are 8 games without a win and just 1 point away from relegation. The good feelings that the Nasrid team has accumulated in recent days were reflected on the field of play. They dominated from the start and went 0-2. Mingueza had the clearest chance in the early stages, but Carlota Suárez opened the scoring with a shot after a cross from Naima (27′). Naima herself had the second in her boots on the brink of half-time. As soon as the second half started, Laura Pérez scored the second to the delight of a Granada team relishing the victory. Villarreal continued to attack and McKenna closed the gap (68′), but the visitors knew how to suffer to add 3 important points.
Real Madrid-Levante Las Planas 2-1
Real Madrid came back against a Las Planas team that, until the 86th minute, was dreaming of victory thanks to a great performance by Cáceres. The visitors took advantage of the free band left by Svava to take the lead with a goal from Uribe after a pass from Poljak (7′). Cáceres was excellent between the sticks and kept out a merengue goal in the first half. Poljak touched the second. After the restart, the white team continued to focus on the attack. Bruun was disallowed for offside (56′) but, after much insistence, Raso broke the deadlock (84′) after a measured pass from Zornoza, leader in midfield with Zornoza himself, eventually realized the discount, he created a great goal to give Real Madrid the victory and leave the Catalan team in the relegation positions and 2 points from safety.
Eibar-Athletic Club 0-2
Athletic took the win in a match where the locals were better but the lions were more effective. Nanclares frustrated Eibar with several saves, and in the second half Azkona (54′) and Amezaga in stoppage time counted their chances.
Real Sociedad-Atlético de Madrid 0-2
Atlético defeated a Real team that was still in a negative dynamic and temporarily moved up to third place, pending the match against Madrid CFF. Ludmila, again the starter, made it 0-1′ after a quarter of an hour and, already in stoppage time, Ajibade scored.
