The German Mats Hummelsdefense of Borussia Dortmundsaid Wednesday, after beating PSG 1-0 in the first leg of the soccer Champions League semifinals, that if his team wanted to reach the final, it had to stay in Paris.
Speaking to DAZN, the German center back was satisfied with the way his team finished and urged his teammates to endure the result to reach the final.
“Today we played a great match. It was a very mature match on our part. We helped each other to perform at our best. It was not easy to stay calm and make good decisions in the semi-final of Champions League, but we did it well for a long time,” said Hummels, 35, world champion with his team at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
“Of course we want to go to Wembley, but Tuesday in Paris is another tough match. If you want to get to the final, you have to hold on in Paris,” he noted.
