The UEFA announced this Friday that the teams participating in next summer’s Euro Cup will be able to register up to 26 playersafter the decision of Executive committee to expand the templates of original figure of 23.
This extension does not imply any obligation for the participating national federations and in accordance with the competition regulations, the teams must provide UEFA with a list with minimum 23 players and maximum 26 before the June 7 deadline, one week before the tournament opens.
As reported by UEFA, the changes approved in the competition regulations affect several articles, including article 44, related to the match sheet where the expansion of the number of registered participants is contemplated, and article 46 which refers to the technical area, which also The number of people who can be on the bench increases from 18 to 23.
“Team officials and substitute players indicated on the match sheet, up to a total of 23 people, may sit on the team bench. on the team bench during the match,” the new text indicates.
The German Euro Cup will be played from June 14 to July 14 in ten cities: Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart.
Spain will play the group stage in B with Croatia, Albania and Italy, the current champion, after the victory it achieved at Wembley (London) against England on penalties (3-2) in 2021, and which marked the second European Championship for the Italian team.
Their first match will be on June 15 in Berlin against the Croatian team; the second on the 20th against Italy in Gelsenkirchen and the third against Albania on the 24th in Dusseldorf.
