Manuel Vizcaino, president of Cádizwas sent through the club’s official media a open letter to Cadista fans. The delicate sporting situation of the team, six points from safety, led the leader to ask for maximum support from his fans, arguing that it was necessary “keep believing”.
The letter came to light when the various groups of Cadism had summoned for a weekend display against the club’s management of the Board of Directors, whom they accuse of being responsible for the situation.
This is the full content of Manuel Vizcaíno’s open letter:
“It’s not the first time, and it’s not the one latewhere I am talking to you.
Though for some we have descended, though for some we can do nothing, I still believe in my team and I still believe in those who wear yellow.
It’s been a year messy where, from an illusion on the part of everyone who dreamed of us, we ended up with a nightmare that led us to the most complicated situation since we returned to the First Division after almost twenty years.
But I will not give up, no one in the team will give up, We will fight to the end to achieve the goal of salvation, which although difficult is not impossible.
I asked the support of believers and unbelievers. I ask for the support of all cadistas. I am asking for support for the players that I will defend until the last moment. I ask for support from minute 1 to 90, that we are playing at home, that we are alive and that this team and its fans are not giving up.
Let everyone who wants to protest before and after the game, but during the game let’s be a united block to achieve the goal and let them feel our encouragement.
We will have time study all the mistakes madebut I ask you to believe to the end as you have done for the last ten years.
The one in yellow IS OURS.
I STILL BELIEVE.
Manuel Vizcaino Fernández
President of the Cádiz Football Club”.
