The Spanish look Pablo Crespo graduate third this Thursday in the C1 1000 final of sprint canoeing Pre-Olympic which will be held in Szeged (Hungary), and pending the almost certain relocation of places that will go to Paris 2024, as announced by the Spanish Canoeing Federation (RFEP).
The man from Pontevedra had the third best time with 3:49.92, behind Russian Zakhar Petrov, competing as a neutral athlete, and Italian Nicolae Craciun, with 3:49.03, in final awarded the last two Olympic tickets. However, since Petrov is classified in C2 and therefore can participate in this C1, Russia has to provide a quota. The normal thing is now in C1, where Crespo will officially take the square.
Crespo was third in his heat (3:51.44), with Petrov himself setting the best time in 3:49.65. Craciun was second in his heat (3:55.53).
