Ana Carrasco erases doubts: the fastest by a length in the test debut in Cremona

Date:

expressed Ana Carrasco on the eve of the curtain raiser to the preseason of the Women’s World Cup with two days of testing at the Cremona circuit “All I know is the Spanish drivers, I have not been on the track with the others. After the test it will be easier see which pilots are going there.” At the start of the test on the Italian circuit, the Murcian driver was fastest in the dry morning, leading in all sectors of the circuit, in a day complicated by the rain that fell in the afternoon.

The 2018 SSP300 World Champion, riding for the Evan Bros Racing Yamaha Team in what will be a one-make competition (all with Yamaha R7s and Pirelli tyres), was fastest on the day with a time of 1′ 45.949, four. tenth ahead of Lucy Michel (TSL-Racing) and almost 1.3 in third, Adela Ourednickova (DafitMotoracing). The Czech rider was the first to crash in testing, at the end of the fourth session straight.

Ran Yochay (511 Terra&Vita Racing Team) is on the edge of the Top 3 with 1’47.455s, 1.5″ behind the Murcian and 1.6″ behind the American Mallory Dobbs (Sekhmet Motorcycle Racing Team). Regarding the other Spanish women, Sara Sánchez was the fastest, 16th, Andrea Sibaja 17th; Beatriz Neila was 18th and Paquita Ruiz, 23rd.

With afternoon rain, WorldWCR riders took the opportunity to test the Yamaha R7 in wet conditions. The best time was set by Chun Mei Liu (WT Racing Team Taiwan) in the fourth session, a 1’54.139 and 0.138 over Mallory Dobbs.

“I’m happy with this first day, especially because it seems like the start of the season is approaching. Last year I didn’t finish the season competing due to a leg injury so after almost 6 months without racing I’m hoping to get back on the starting grid. Overall, I’m satisfied so far,” explained Ana Carrasco.

“Although we haven’t been able to ride much because of the rain, I spent the day getting to know the circuit, which is new for me, and also to work on this new bike with the team. I’m happy with how I felt on the bike and Also with my Evan Bros team, I think we will do a good job together and I look forward to being on the track again tomorrow to ride and continue to get sensations.”
