After the defeat that occurred in time trial of the seventh stage of the Giro d’Italia, Filippo Ganna returned this Saturday to taste the sweetness of victory by winning the 31.2 kilometer time trial on the banks of Lake Garda.

“Today, I have experienced a lot. Winning a time trial is not like winning a sprint, you have to wait up to two hours and the stress increases. I was very happy when we arrived, we were in Italy and it was special for me to race in my country, also considering the proximity of the Velodromo di Montichiari, which is a second home for me. A six-time Giro trial win was a great result, and so was the team’s result, with Thomas and Arensman winning the general classification. Tomorrow is an intense day, before a week where we have to fight hard,” said the INEOS-Grenadiers team runner.
