The keys to the Catalunya Sprint

Date:

1. Seniority is a degree.

He used experience, he knew that the race was not played in the first half of the 12 planned but at the very end. He kept his cool, in his place, a strategy was perfect. He obtained positions based on the self-elimination of his rivals; and Bagnaia gave him the victory on the last lap.

2. A new Super comeback from Marc Márquez.

If two weeks before France he started from 13th position on the grid to finish on the podium, here in Montmeló he ended up at the bottom after qualifying 14th on the grid; even more difficult… Marc is already second in the World Championship standings.

3. The waterfall of Raúl Fernandez, Binder and Bagnaia.

All three eliminated themselves by going to the ground when they rolled into the lead. The first because of the extra momentum on the always critical asphalt of Montmeló; the second addition of his twelfth autumn season; and Bagnaia made a mistake unbecoming of his level on the last lap when he was comfortably in the lead.

4. Pedro Acosta’s tire management.

He has a few turns left. He came to lead the race, but now he finds that in Montmeló the excesses at the beginning are paid. He goes to the lesson by race. I’m sure it won’t happen again.

5. Jorge Martín’s crash in Q2.

The Madrid driver crashed in the session that defined the grid, relegating him to the third row. From there it’s all uphill. He started in the common and instead of gaining positions he lost them; trying to move forward he overheated the rear tire; Riding in a group, the forward temperature rose… Everyone came together.
