The American Madison Keys extended her fine streak on dirt this season by winning the Strasbourg tournament title after defeating her compatriot Danielle Collins 6-1 and 6-2 in the final.
Keys, the only player to beat world number one, the Polish Iga Swiatek, on this surface this year, took just one hour and twelve minutes to seal her eighth WTA individual title, her first on clay.
The American has ten wins and just three losses on clay in 2024. In addition to the victory in Strasbourg, she was a semi-finalist in the WTA 1,000 in Madrid and in Rome.
Keys earned her second victory in three matches over Collins in the first clay match between the two. Collins, despite the loss, will return to the world’s top ten on Monday.
