A new doping-related case has shaken Spanish athletes. This time it’s the runner Abderrahim Ougra24, who received a provisional suspension from the Athletics Integrity Unit for avoiding an anti-doping test.
The event took place on January 21, after Ougra achieved fourth place in the Cáceres Cross Country Grand Prix. The athlete, born in Morocco but licensed by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation, disappeared from an anti-doping control to which he was summoned after the race.
According to various media outlets, Ougra He left his clothes and belongings at the scene and fled without explanation.
Consequently, his representation agency decided to terminate its contractual relationship with the athlete and the Athletics Integrity Unit initiated a file against him for violation of article 2.3 of the Anti-Doping Code.
Ougra, what? He arrived in Spain in 2016 and lives in Girona, he is champion of Catalonia in cross country and national bronze in 3,000m obstacles. Now he faces a penalty of up to 4 years of suspension.
