The Cabildo of Gran Canaria has launched an institutional declaration in which the Island Corporation asks the Government of Spain to declare the editions of the Canary Islands Rally of 2025 and 2026 as events of extraordinary public interest.
According to Cabildo, the Higher Sports Council will be asked to include the corresponding budget allocations in favor of the Canary Islands Rallyproof to be issued as valid for the World Rally Championship, in their budgets for those two years, 2025 and 2026.
The main purpose of this statement is facilitate the cooperation of private initiative in the financing of this competitionunderstanding it as an element that drives the island’s economic growth, in the medium and long term.
And, in the same way, it is pointed out that the tax incentives will mean that the dissemination and impact of global media is greater and, therefore, that the promotion of the island is also greater, the note indicates.
