Jorge Prado (GasGas) took a step forward in its quest to retain the world title of the premier motocross category by winning the German Grand Prixthe eighth round of the championship held at Teutschenthal, allowing him to regain the lead.
Prado, who on Saturday lost to the Slovenian Tim Gajser (Honda) in the qualifying race, which moved him another point from command in the general classification, got even this Sunday by winning both rounds.
Initially, despite Dutchman Glenn Coldenhoff (Fantic) starting first, he soon took control to win with great authority, with a 12,895 advantage over Dutchman Jeffrey Herlings (KTM), who took made a great comeback until he took second place from Gajer, eventually third.
In the second race, the Lugo driver started in the lead. He again scored the holeshot (first in the first corner) and did not allow his rivals to take him away from the lead despite attempts by Gajser and Herlings.
The Dutchman was the first to give up and the Slovenian applied all the pressure he could, but a small mistake allowed Prado to open up more than two seconds of space to go straight to victory with a profit of 3,329.
In this way, the Spaniard won another Grand Prix and with this he once again placed himself at the head of the general classification, with 402 points, two more than Gajser, while Herlings is now third with 336 and Frenchman Romain Febvre (Kawasaki) was fourth ), who fell in the first round this Sunday and did not add.
Next Sunday the next test will take place at the Kegums circuit, the Latvian GP.
